Are You a Candidate?

• Almost everyone who wants to remove excess hair will be a good candidate for laser hair removal. People with very light hair and skin may see limited results, because the treatment works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicles. In addition, laser hair removal is not safe around the eyes, so it cannot treat excess eyebrow hair.

About the Treatment

The laser used in the LHR treatment process can only treat hair follicles that are in an active growth phase, so several treatment appointments are needed to reach all active hairs in the treatment area. Our patients typically see the best results after between 2 to 6 appointments.

During treatment, we may begin by numbing the area to be treated with a topical gel if the area is particularly sensitive or if you are concerned about maximizing your comfort. Your treatment professional at Wellskin holds your skin tight and moves the LHR handpiece slowly over the skin as it administers pulses of laser light. Treatment may take anywhere from just a few minutes for a smaller area to over an hour for full treatment of the legs or back.

Results

Results vary from patient to patient depending on factors such as the color and thickness of your hair, your skin color, and the area being treated. After each treatment session, you will be able to see less and less hair. Once the treatment series is complete, most of our patients do not have any noticeable hair on the treated skin for several months or even years. And, when hair growth does resume, in many cases the hairs are thinner, lighter and less numerous than when the first treatment was started.
